How to get around .shtml pages

Hi,

I have to use .shtml pages so that I can use shared ssi files. How can I set this script up so that it can be seen on an .shtml page? Can it be in a regular .html page, and then that page shown on my .shtml page via ssi?

You can use the JS version and it is OK.
